Simon Wilby Asks: Got Juice?

For people on-the-go who need extreme portability in their computing needs computer manufacturers have created laptops and notebooks. However, only 6 to 8 hours of battery life is the maximum that can be had by a laptop owner, such as, Simon Wilby. And that’s talking about the state-of-the-art in laptop technology.

Simon Wilby is one of those businessmen who requires more than 8 hours on his machine, though he is not always within the reach of a wall-socket. This inspired the inventor in Simon Wilby, founder and CEO of The Smart Power, Inc. to make use of solar power to keep his laptop full of juice. The businessman in him was inspired to develop laptop juice that will keep on running and outlast laptop users themselves. This eventually became “The Smart Juice.” The idea behind The Smart Juice came from the solar-powered lithium battery for cell phones which he also invented and which The Smart Power, Inc. is selling as “The Smart One.”

Simon Wilby designed The Smart Juice — which is a bunch of solar panels — to be retrofitted at the back of laptop screens. The power port is connected to the solar panel by teeny-tiny wires. The standard retrofit time for his other inventions is less than 30 seconds which also applies to The Smart Juice.
